FREE LUNCH FOR VETS INTERESTED IN ENTREPRENEURSHIP

Veterans and military spouses are invited to celebrate National Veterans Small Business Week at the Cape Fear Botanical Gardens with a free lunch.

The Veterans Business Outreach Center at Fayetteville State University is partnering with the North Carolina Department of Military & Veterans to host a “Mission: Veterans Entrepreneurship,” organizers said.

The event will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Tuesday at Cape Fear Botanical Garden.

“This is the first inaugural event where we celebrate, promote, and support veteran small businesses in North Carolina,” said Tamara Bryant, director of the Veterans Business Outreach Center at Fayetteville State University.

With the theme of “Branding with a Purpose,” the keynote speaker of the event is Michael Barbera.

Barbera is a consumer psychologist and business strategist and chief behavioral officer at Clicksuasion Labs, which provides clients with services that include science-based methods in behavioral economics, behavioral finance and psychology and consumer psychology to support business plans.

His clients have appeared on the Fortune 500 list, as well as on ABC’s “Shark Tank,” Bravo’s “Million Dollar Listing” and Gordon Ramsay’s “Kitchen Nightmares,” the Clicksuasion Labs website states.

The entrepreneurship event also will include breakout sessions with topics about reaching customers with Google and social media or branding.

Organizers said a light breakfast and lunch will be provided, along with networking opportunities and a free marketing headshot.

Larry Hall, secretary of the North Carolina Department of Military and Veterans Affairs and Thomas Stith, with the Small Business Association district office, will also be in attendance.

To attend, veterans, active duty, and military spouses should register online.
