MISSION: VETERAN ENTREPRENEURSHIP

Building your brand, a conference for veteran and military spouse entrepreneurs.

Fayetteville, NC, November 5, 2019 – Dr. Michael Barbera, the chief behavioral officer at Clicksuasion Labs provided the interactive branding keynote Tuesday at Mission: Veteran Entrepreneurship. Mission: Veteran Entrepreneurship was a one-day conference hosted by Fayetteville State University and the Department of Veteran Affairs held at the Cape Fear Botanical Gardens in Fayetteville, North Carolina. The mission was to equip veteran and military spouse entrepreneurs with the knowledge and tools of building their brand.

One hundred and eighty-five veterans and spouses traveled from all over the state, some traveling from as far as northern Virginia and Georgia to attend the conference. Beyond the keynote by Clicksuasion Labs’ Michael Barbera, other sessions were hosted by Facebook and Google, and a branding competition was held at the conference. D’Shawn Russell of Southern Elegance was selected as the winner by three judges. Each conference attendee received a complimentary headshot by Sylvia Runyon of Runyon Photography at the conference, and lunch was provided by Aramark.

Each attendee had a handheld device to engage with the branding content during Michael Barbera’s ‘Branding with a Purpose’ interactive keynote. The sound of laughter reverberated through the Cape Fear Botanical Garden as the attendees viewed their answers on the main screen, which highlighted their shopping behavior and the behavior of their peers.

Michael Barbera’s keynote provided the attendees with actionable, relevant, and sustainable principles to apply to their brand. Three takeaways from Branding with a Purpose were applying psychology, leveraging military experience, and applying the reTRUST framework. Attendees gained knowledge on:

  • Recognition of how brands apply psychology to marketing, branding, and communication.
  • Understanding how to leverage the military experience for a remarkable brand experience
  • The application of behavioral science with Clicksuasion’s evidence-based reTRUST framework
